Favorite Backyard Oasis: This is definitely another thing that I will have in my dream home. A nice getaway in the backyard where I can go relax with a book, a cup of coffee in the morning, or a nap in nature. There are so many different versions of a “she shed” depending on what your hobby is. It can be made into a traditional gardening shed, a crafts room, a reading nook, pretty much anything you can think of. For some fabulous examples click here. Doesn’t this backyard just look absolutely divine?!?!
Favorite Breakfast Dish: I am not a big breakfast person, especially during the week. I like to wake up in the morning with just enough time to get dressed, walk my dog Charlie, and leave for work. Sometimes I will bring a granola bar or bagel with me into the office but most of the time it is usually just a cup of coffee. That being said this Sweet Potato Hash could be the thing that changes my mind about breakfast.
Favorite Do Good Website: I have always wanted to start volunteering but never really knew the best place to go. This website is so amazing. You put in your city and then you can pick what type of organization you think you would like to help. Some options are animals, disaster relief, faith-based, environment, and so many others. I think it is so important to give back in whatever capacity you can.
Favorite Wino Gift: I love, love, love wine. Red, white, rose, sparkling….I love them all. As much as I enjoy a glass a wine I have no clue what wine goes best with what food. I usually just drink whatever I have at the house or someone else orders. I found these towels on Uncommon Goods and thought they were awesome. It helps pair my favorite things, wine & food. This would also make a great hostess gift.
Favorite Self Improvement App: Streaks is a to-do list app that helps you form good habits. You choose up to six tasks that you want to turn into daily habits. Some examples could be; walk a certain amount of steps, read a book, floss your teeth, etc. Every time you complete a task, your streak is extended. Working on something every day helps you form a new habit. If you break the chain your streak will reset to zero days. There is also an option to set certain tasks that aren’t every day; like go to the gym, call your parents, avoid junk food, etc. Right now it is only available for iPhone but they are working on the Android version of it. It costs $3.99.
Favorite Book Shelf Inspiration: Clearly I am obsessed with reading. I think every “Friday Favorites” thus far I have included something to do with reading. This article, “24 Pieces of Bookshelf Porn That Are Borderline NSFW,” made me want to build a bookshelf like now, plus the title of the article made me laugh. I love every single one they included. They are all amazing in their own way. A ladder is definitely a must for me!
Favorite Coloring Tool: Adult coloring is a popular trend at the moment. I am always on the hunt for good, thin tipped markers to use when I color because I don’t love using colored pencils. My future step-sister tagged me in a post for these Chameleon Pens and they are so very cool. These markers bring color control and simplicity to your art. You can create stunning 3D effects, smooth transitions, highlighting, shading, gradations and blending, all with ONE pen! They are pretty pricey so I won’t be getting them any time soon but a girl can dream.
Favorite Date Ideas on a Budget: With Valentine’s Day coming up it is always nice to get date ideas that won’t break the bank. Read this article, “30 Totally Fun Date Ideas for Couples Ballin’ on a Budget,” to get some ideas that won’t cost you a penny. There are ideas for foodies, adventurists, homebirds, culture vultures, old romantics, & quirky types. Get dating 🙂
Favorite Jewelry Organizer: My friend Jen is obsessed with The Container Store. I remember the couple times we went to Georgia together she had to stop there. Now we have one in our town and I am sure she has been there quite a few times. I saw this jewelry organizer on their website and I love the look, the size and the functionality of it.
Favorite All-Time Dessert: My favorite dessert has always been cheesecake so when I finally tried fried cheesecake a few years ago it was like heaven in my mouth. There are a few different ways to make it, all of which sound delicious, but I loved this recipe for Fried Cheesecake Roll-Ups I found on Pinterest. Holy yumminess!!!
